Hello, For the past 10 days, xP// has been through a very sudden downtime that has lost us a lot of data. The Minecraft server, xP// Build, was all but completely lost. This happened because my payment for the server didn't register on the OVH system, meaning it was taken down and the server was completely wiped of all data, even though I paid for the month. Of course, you may be thinking, "they lost your data, surely you can take legal action?" - well, the answer to that is no. Their terms and conditions cover them for loss of data no matter what, we basically have to sign a contract to even get a server with them. The forum is only up because I managed to restore a recent backup of it - but I'm afraid we won't have a MC server for the foreseeable future - I will, however, allow you to advertise and talk about servers which don't have their own website/forum, or servers so large E.G. mineplex that it doesn't really matter. You may do this for any game that we don't run, including minecraft + garry's mod. I'm very sorry about the downtime and the data loss, but hopefully the community can still stick around while we have this forum up. Thanks for reading, Lukas
Sheesh, talk about a serious violation of an owner's rights and security. Legally that should not be allowed but I guess it's too late huh. The attempt to keep a striving community will be a hard one, but I plan to stick around. At least from time to time I'll be happy to pop my head, offer my input, and what not. We can't do down that easily, it wouldn't be right.
Well that is most unfortunate but I'll definitely still be around. Definitely hoping other stick around here as well, continue to keep this place alive until there's another MC server or we find another game to latch onto. Still waiting for Unturned to get an official update but it'll definitely be awesome when that happens, if anyone hasn't tried it yet I definitely recommend it, (it's free) just gets old a little too fast atm. What games is everyone else playing at the moment? P.S. Thanks Xen for getting the forums back up and keeping them alive after this unfortunate incident.
